CAN’T STOP THIS FEELING…
WHEN IT HITS. RHONDAVOUS, FRIDAY, JUNE 8TH. WERK.
THANK YOU TO DJ Nature, Tevo Howard, Dam-Funk, AND ALL THE OTHER AMAZING PEOPLE THAT HELPED TURN OUT RHONDAVOUS ON FRIDAY NIGHT. THE ENERGY WAS AMAZING AND THIS LOVE FILLED MOMENT IS ONE THAT I WILL NEVER FORGET:
TONIGHT WE REMEMBER HER MUSIC, WE REMEMBER HER BEAUTY, WE DANCE TO HER LEGACY. FOR ONE NIGHT ONLY: A CLUB CALLED DONNA. THIS IS A CELEBRATION ON THE ALTAR OF THE DANCE FLOOR AND Y’ALL ARE INVITED. THIS WOMAN WAS IN INSPIRATION TO ME AND TO ALL WHO’VE EVER TWIRLED UNDER A DISCO BALL. PAY RESPECTS AND SEND LOVE TO A DIVA. THE DIVA.
“Donna Summer left us many legacies, and one of the most fascinating is the way her music brought gay and straight audiences together on the dance floor. For decades, her music has been a staple in gay club playlists while also topping mainstream pop charts.
Her music blended the sexual and the spiritual with sonic invention that forever changed the way we party. That contribution is perhaps nowhere more evident than at A Club Called Rhonda.
The peripatetic L.A. club is famous for its polysexual hedonism and mix of classic disco and adventurous electronic dance music. We asked the club’s founders to assess her legacy, and how it informs today’s nightclub culture.”
As our next RHONDAVOUS is fast approaching this Friday it’s important to start thinking about your look. You don’t want to leave it all to the last minute and feel insecure in such a fun and fearless environment. The month of April provided you two opportunities to show off your stuff and land amongst these flawless figures in my GOLDEN ACHIEVERS.
Boy do I love me some straps and buckles, especially in a bondage sense
. I’m a pretty dominant woman, from the boardroom to the bedroom so some playful play-gear gets my motor running and my mind wandering. Step into my office you pretty little deviants…
The 90s are definitely back and I for one am glad because I don’t fully remember my first time around with these trends; It was a pretty hazy time in my life. I’m pretty sure I’ve worn each of these items before, hell some of these might even be my hand me downs! Thankfully these babes are pulling it off proper. A playful attitude is the best accessory to colorful prints and colorful hair.
As somebody who is pretty well endowed myself I always appreciate a flawlessly fearless full chested woman. A woman’s body truly is a work of art, and should be appreciated as such.
Let’s not forget our male counterparts. Just as a woman’s figure is something to behold, so is a man’s for all it’s special features, including all the masculine hair that just oozes virility. There is nothing like feeling that rough hair brush against my silky smooth body, it’s a sensation I desire almost as much as new shoes…almost.
Can I get a round of applause for all the ladies that were GETTING IT on the dancefloor at the last RHONDAVOUS? I mean really, they were taking it there. From the outfits to the hairflips, everything about these ladies said I came to get DOWN. Work it out girlfriend, that’s what it’s all about.
A slip dress is one thing, a nude slip dress is another, but a nude slip dress over a naked male body?! Be still my beating heart. This creature is always one of my favorites, but her current incarnation is giving me life. Keep doing what you’re doing, we all thank you for it.
Although I’m usually against getting my hair wet I’d gladly go diving into the depths with this lovely lady. All divers know the perfect dive requires the perfect scuba outfit, and this bathing suit nails it. I wonder if I can get a matching oxygen tank and coin purse?
Well this is just an ideal moment to walk into if I ever saw one. I know I appreciate when my outfit coincidently matches the décor of the event I’m at, and I’m sure this man did too. Stripes on stripes is a great, if not confusing look. You’re making me dizzy baby.
I’m really into how much the boy in front is frightening me with that blank vampiric stare. You also can’t go wrong with red and black lace. I’m sure he coaxed a few people into the darkness that night.
Speaking of coaxing mortals, this little nymph looks rather mischievous to me. If there was a supernatural being in attendance that night to make everybody imbibe and writhe until their bodies couldn’t take it anymore then this was it.
Wow, April was a good month for ya’ll. You guys got down and looked damn good doing it. Don’t let me down this Friday at RHONDAVOUS WITH TEVO HOWARD & DJ NATURE. I’ll be watching…
Hello lovers,
The time is upon us once again. The time to break free of your daily routine, to shed your inhibitions, and gather all your friends at once for a night of rapturous celebration; It’s time for RHONDAVOUS.
After a much needed (and rather titillating) holiday, I am returning to my fair City of Angels next Friday, May 18th and bringing a few choice souvenirs back with me from my travels. From Chicago I’m bringing you TEVO HOWARD, the 80’s DJ prodigy turned contemporary analog mastermind and man behind Beautiful Granville Records. In New York I picked up legendary British DJ/producer and founding member of The Wild Bunch soundsystem, DJ NATURE. If that wasn’t enough for you we’ll have another special guest in addition to our homegrown team: Goddollars, Paradise, MC Russinabox, and Gregory Alexander.
Join my beautiful accomplices and I next Friday at 333 Live (333 Boylston St.) from 9pm to 3am for another lesson from the field on being a hedonist. RSVP yourself at Rhondasays.net for Free Entry & 2-4-1 drinks till 10pm.
Oh honey, that party in the desert last weekend really did a number on me, but you know I don’t stay down for long. I gotta get up and keep it moving and shaking and living for you, don’t I? Now you may remember that I moved RHONDAVOUS back a few weeks this month not only to help allow for time to bring Rhonda, Queen of the Desert properly to Palm Springs, but also to provide you the perfect antidote to your post Coachella blues. Don’t fret baby, momma’s got the perfect medicine for you…
Next Friday, April 27th, RHONDAVOUS hits downtown L.A. once again, and as always a few friends of mine are coming along to set you aflame. This time I’m bringing in a man that was integral to the beginnings of house music in Chicago with KMS studios, not to mention setting the blueprint for Deep House with his Prescription label, CHEZ DAMIER. In addition, I’m happy to welcome back French synth-wizard JOAKIM who’s been busy touring his amazing album Nothing Gold. Of course we’ll also have our residents GODDOLLARS and PARADISE on the decks, as well as MC RUSSINABOX and host GREGORY ALEXANDER forcing you to party harder than you ever have.
It all goes down Friday, April 27th from 9pm-3am at 333 S. Boylston St.
Make sure to RSVP at RHONDASAYS.NET for free entry & 2-4-1 drinks all before 10pm.
And please work a look honey, this is not a drill.
The Los Angeles Times does a piece on how the Coachella off-site parties, including my own “Rhonda, Queen of the Desert,” are fast becoming just as important to Angelenos as the festival itself…
“Last weekend’s Rhonda — a club known for its poly-sexual, raucous atmosphere — was an audacious example of the new Coachella vibe. Held at the new Day-Glo-hued Saguaro, DJ Harvey (Sarcastic Disco) spun while club host Gregory Alexander pranced around in skimpy get-ups engaging attendees as partiers played with water guns and shook their bodies until sunset. Dub Frequency, which does the popular L.A. club, “No Shirt/No Shoes,” had a hand in programming everything at Saguaro.”
Yup, that all sounds about how it went. Pick up a copy of the LA Times for yourself today or check out the story online HERE.
WHAT AN APT NAME FOR THE GALLERY OF HOTTIES FROM MY “RHONDA, QUEEN OF THE DESERT” PARTY UP ON PAPER MAGAZINE. THANKS LINA, AND THANKS TO ALL YOU BEAUTIFUL CHILDREN WHO TURNED THE PARTY OUT.
